TV guesting in Umagang Kay Ganda aftermath

Its my first time to be in ABS CBN 's Umagang Kay Ganda, the show start at 5:30am and i think it ends at around 9am. We were invited by the organizers of the Manila Toys and Gift Show and it will be promotion for the event and also for us exhibit a some toys and collectibles, this was discussed after the meeting and event briefing, and we got Robert as one of the guest and exhibitor for the tv guesting, and also Mark Cerbo of Transformers Philippines. I just arrived at 5:00AM and it was rainy that morning, and glad to see Vic Yap and Lou Garcia just finished their vintage toys set up, saw Robert exhibiting those expensive and cool super robots, and a guy who sells and distribute Bakugan toys. I placed my Transformers toys in Vic's table, and then after my set up, I floor director shouted to everyone and announces that the tv show will start in a few minutes. ( read more below)

We stayed in the backstage, near the dressing room, there we stayed and wait for our call to be featured on camera, we saw the UGK host coming in and out of the dressing room, then Mark arrived all wet and told us that he placed his TF toys in our tables, he just saw my Supreme Class Optimus Prime on the table. Then we waited and grabbed a free coffee, and we entertained our selves by talking on what's happening on the toy collectors scene and also about the upcoming toy releases ( which I will post in a separated blog post)

then we were called and we stayed in front of our toys, it is still rainy and the floor is wet, I was asked to do a demo of the Supreme Class Prime, but I told them it will be hard because the floor is all wet. But then Edu Manzano showed up and prepare for the tv feature, he talked to us and approach everyone and checking out the toys we have, he joked on Mark's digital camera for being placed on the table, and Edu grabbed it and said, is this real.is this fake? aahahaha, we both laugh at it, and then Mark wears the Optimus Prime helmet mask and the tv rolls...

I got very conscious and nervous whenever there is a live tv interview, and because that it will be a fast interview, it will be a 0.01 time for me to think fast and come up a better answer. Its funny that my name Azrael Coladilla, the owner of Azrael's Merryland is flashed on the tv screen and my cell phone number is posted there too, so after the tv feature, I got a swarm of text messages, miscalls and funny text messages, there are also text messages from relatives who were surprised to see me on TV.

ahahahaa, it was a fun experience in UKG, and then one of the guys there told us that on the next tv guesting, it will be for Transformers Philippines, and then we pitched to include Toy Soldier 1:18 for GI JOE.

And also thanks to the Cosplayers who were there to join us in the tv guesting.

We were invited to the new branch of Abenson in Glorietta 5, Makati City, and because it is a new building infront ot Hotel Intercon, I got lost and my mind says "Greenbelt 5" ahahaha, so I walked back from that location and headed to the 3rd level of Gloriettta 5 were we spotted the new branch of Abenson. I'm looking for a sub woffer that time,but they don't have a stock in their branch in G5, but I managed to score an Infinity brand microphone, because I just remembered that our mic here at home is broken and its a perfect timing to use it in a sing a long activity for Christmas day. Dayo : the voices and the soundtrack release

I got in time for the press con few days ago for the Dayo movie, its the 1st digital animated film feature and an official entry for the 2008 Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF), this animated film created by our local studio of Cutting Edge Productions will be release in all theaters on December 25, 2008.

I just got into the Q and A in Ratskys and the voice artist behind the animated characters are in the hot seat with the press. The voice actors presents are celebrities and personalities like Nash Aguas, Nova Villa, Katrina Legaspi, Peque Gallaga, Pocholo Gonzales and many more.

I just learned that digital animation process is still the top style in producing animated features, because of it is time and cost efficient, the quality is good and for me Dayo is a great masterpiece that will lift the animation studio and artist here in the Philippines.And because that is is done by digital technology, meaning that the process of creating the animation is "paper less".

The Dayo sa Mundo ng Elementalia soundtrack is one of the best animated sountrack and the 1st ever here in the Philippines. With a magic touch of great roster of artists, everything that is in Dayo is a truly a work of art, more than a masterpiece, don't know what word should I describe. I almost cried and felt this goosebump after watching the Dayo full trailer in the press con, because I have this big support in our local artist and studio, I helped Dayo in promoting the film in two of my biggest events and conventions and with that help, it will really give a big word of mouth to everyone that Dayo is here and watch out for it. I see that the time pressure and workload of Cutting Edge Productions really pays off. I'm very excited to see the full film.

Meet the voices behind ‘Dayo’

Cutting Edge Productions, the local studio behind the first full-length paperless animated feature “Dayo sa Mundo ng Elementalia,” brings together the finest voice actors in the Philippine entertainment industry to jazz up and add zest to the film’s animated characters.

“Dayo” is a heartwarming story of overcoming one's fear and triumphing over adversity. It centers on the 11-year-old Bubuy (voiced by Nash Aguas) who is out to save his abducted grandparents in the land of Elementalia, a magical and mystical world that houses many of the Philippines' mythical creatures and other enchanted elements. Along the way, Bubuy meets Anna (voiced by Katrina Legaspi), a teen manananggal (a winged creature that can separate her torso from her lower body) who befriends and helps Bubuy in his quest to rescue his beloved grandparents.

This is Nash and Katrina's first animation voicing experience and it certainly spelled fun for them. "I really enjoyed doing the voice of Bubuy," says Nash gleefully. "I was very happy when I learned that I got the part, because it was different from what I usually do on TV. My favorite part is when I met Anna for the first time and she brought me to Elementalia." Nash adds that he felt as if he was just playing in the recording studio and he did not have any difficulty recording his parts.

On the other hand, Hopia, as Katrina is fondly called, loves the scene where she was introducing the beautiful underworld of Elementalia to Bubuy. "It felt like I was just welcoming Bubuy to my house," she expresses. "I also like the flying scene because I've always dreamt of flying. I'm so excited to see the whole movie already."

Even though the cast did not have any visual support during the recording, director Robert Quilao was there to visualize for them. "With the screenplay on hand, the actors are called in the studio to record their respective dialogues," Robert describes. "This is when I briefed them on the mood and tone of the scene and directed them as to how the dialogues are to be delivered. The challenge for me as the director is to paint a vivid picture of what's happening in the scene for the actors to act and deliver their lines accordingly."

Robert also did not have a hard time directing the voice talents since almost all of them are seasoned actors and directors. "There was practically no need for a workshop," he continues. "The most we were able to do was brief them about the story and the characters that they will be playing on the day that they were called to record in the studio. Even Nash and Hopia did not have a hard time internalizing their characters."

Since schedule is a major concern for many of the voice artists, the creative team had to work around their availability. More so, it's not really possible to gather all of them together to record the scenes that would require them to interact. In such situations, Robert would feed the lines of the other characters during the recording session to create a natural flow in the conversation. "Although later on, we just played back the good takes of the characters that we had previously recorded for the one that we are currently recording," Robert explains. "These recordings are then edited together to create a cohesive dialogue."

Adding more color and amusement to “Dayo” are its supporting cast.

Even before the controversial Pokwang was labeled as an aswang (ghoul or vampire) look-alike, the “Dayo” team already pegged her for the role of Vicky, the nanny manananggal of Anna, hence the character sketch is loosely based on her. "I didn't have to do any major voice adjustments for the role," says Pokwang. "I didn't have to lower or make my voice higher. I think I was just being my cool 'kalog' self that's why I had so much fun arguing with the role of Toti in Dayo."

Cutting Edge originally had news anchor Mike Enriquez to do the voice of Toti, one of Anna's bodyguards. But the team had to get someone who can mimic the famous newsman instead, and the best choice for this is veteran voice actor Pocholo Gonzales.

Anna's second bodyguard who has an unusual hearing impairment is named Jo and voiced by famed comedian Gabe Mercado.

Perhaps one of the most challenging character portrayals would be the role of Narsi, the narcissistic cool rocker tikbalang (the underworld creature with the head of a horse and the body of a human). There is no better versatile actor to do this than Michael V. "I prepare for every role that I play," Michael V states. "Even if I had previously done a horse voice for Enteng Kabisote 3, my role here is totally different.”

Playing the role of Lolo Nano, the cute resident sage of Elementalia, is no other than multi-awarded actor and director Peque Gallaga.

“Dayo” also features the voices of Noel Trinidad. He plays the role of Lolo Meong, Bubuy's grandfather who shares the kid's penchant for flying. Nova Villa is Lola Nita, Bubuy's caring grandmother who nags Lolo Meong a lot. Johnny Delgado joins in as Carpio, Anna's dad who is Elementalia's head guardian. And completing “Dayo's” dream cast is distinguished actor and director Laurice Guillen playing a dual role of the kapre (the motherly cigar-smoking giant), and the Diwata/Bruha, the enchanting fairy with an evil alter ego.

‘Dayo’ OST in stores now

Even before “Dayo sa Mundo ng Elementalia” hits the cinemas on December 25, it has already registered a lot of firsts for the Philippine movie industry. “Dayo” has been brave in meeting heads on with films under proven box office formulas. But not only it is brave, it proves to be daring as it introduces another first in filmmaking, that of releasing its musical score recorded in full orchestra. “Dayo” is poised not only as a feast to the eyes but will seek to establish a deeper connection with the audience through its music.

Jessie Lasaten, multi-awarded film music composer and executive producer of “Dayo,” weaves magic this time complementing the digital animated film with an ensemble of an all-Filipino musical talent and the use of indigenous instruments. Providing for a multi-sensorial treat to audiences of all ages, “Dayo’s” soundtrack highlights the rendition of world-renowned performer Lea Salonga of the movie’s theme song, “Lipad.” Her version of “Lipad” and the whole film score were recorded together with the FILharmoniKA under the baton of Gerard Salonga.

It will be recalled that Lea had already lent her singing voice to Mulan and Princess Jasmine, both from Disney’s animated films. Lea’s track will accompany the first flight of Bubuy and Anna manananggirl. “Lipad is a song about believing in dreams and making them come true,” explains Jessie who collaborated with Temi Abad, Jr. in writing the lyrics. “Kaya mong lumipad,” is a line from the movie’s theme song. It speaks of an aspiration to soar and at the same time, talks about the readiness to reach new heights.

Aside from Lea’s inspirational version, upcoming band Roots of Nature sang an upbeat version of “Lipad.” This is currently released on the airwaves under the Sony BMG label.

Several notable artists also rendered their artistry for the completion of “Dayo’s” sound. Among them was Moymoy Palaboy singing "Kapit," a song about friendship. New band Juan Lunar performed "Daybreak," a song about being there for someone when they need you most.

“We have music that combines full orchestral instrumentation with the ethnic instruments of Joey Ayala. I've composed new themes for the major characters. In terms of scoring the scenes, I've combined orchestral score with Filipino ethnic instruments especially when Bubuy enters Elementalia. We asked Joey to sing the Elementalia Dayo song as well as have him perform his "hegalong " a two-string lute instrument. He also played kubing (jaw harp), kulintang (ethnic gong), and nose flute which added texture to the score in the Elementalia scenes,” narrates Jessie about the extent of his team’s efforts in coming up with the movie’s full soundtrack. This multi-faceted musical scoring will guarantee to carry the viewers from one scene to the next, bridging animation and real life.

Despite Jessie’s proven track record in garnering awards, he has something else in mind when it comes to “Dayo’s” music. “I'd choose Dayo to be commercially popular. I guess instrumental albums, much less an original score for a movie are rarely released nowadays. I would want the public to know that we can still come up with original instrumental music for orchestra,” stresses Jessie on the direction he’d want to head in.

“Dayo’s” original soundtrack recording is in stores now. It is released through Sony BMG.

TV5 - Shake mo! Blog mo! ( bloggers event)

Tv5 just hosted a bloggers party and launching of their 2nd season tv show and programs at Chilis in Greenbelt 1, Me and Lace were there to celebrate the big launching and party the night with our blogger friends. We just learned that TV5 is now on the top 3 of the best TV network here in the Philippines. We even joke on the side with my friends that TV5 should be in top 2, because we have two top 1 TV networks ahaahha. Okay, at the launch party we were treated by drinks, food, pasta, chicken chili and some beers. Mykapalaran one of the marketing guys of TV5 and also a blogger, tease us for some raffle draws and some of us win items like Ipods, GCs, DVDS, and our brod Fritz just won a JVC TV, ( which we joked that the tv is locked in only for TV5 hahaa) (read more story and photos below)

me with Jove Francisco, the host of TEN's Sidetrack, I like his segment and its my favorite, because Jove features the I.T. side, tech and gadgets, the social media buzz and blogs.

Lace here is showing off on a DVD swags of Shakugan no Shana eps. 1-6. Also TV5 has four new anime series—Shakugan No Shana II, Mai Hime, Noein, and the award-winning Anime Code Geass—are sure to fire up every anime fanatics’ weekday afternoons. There are buzz already that TV5 anime time slot is dominating pretty well according to anime fans and the Code Geass anime sparks a lot of mecha fans and anime lovers to watch and hunt for DVD in the market. According to Mark Santos of Robot Pilipinas, the show is uncut and it is good that Tv5 got the rights to air it in free TV.

We just watch the AVP of lots of new tv shows such as fabulous game show—You & Me Against The World hosted by Gretchen Barretto, plus the situational comedy entitled Everybody Hapi starring John Estrada, Eugene Domingo, Alex Gonzaga, Matt Evans and Roxanne Guinoo.

There is also a weekday primetime shows with edgy and amusing storylines including Hahahayop, hosted by Eugene Domingo; OMG, with Iya Villania as host of this “heightened reality TV”; Kiddie Kwela, hosted by funny man Bayani Agbayani, Video Zonkers, Rescue Mission with TJ Trinidad, and Baikingu with an eclectic mix of hosts—Gabe Mercado, Brod Pete, and Richard del Rosario. To wrap up your day are late night entertainment shows Weakend News with Ramon Bautista, I Am Ninoy, hosted by Bianca Gonzales, FLO—the all-new teen magazine show, and TOYZ, a magazine lifestyle show with gadgets, cars, and lots of bling.

Also at the party, we meet new blogger friends and Tv5 people who are also bloggers. The night ended after we watched the live airing of Tv5 's The Evening News (TEN), and they aired some footages of what happened at the launching party, for the top ten news, the launching event for bloggers made it on top 3. And we enjoyed watching ourselves appearing on TV and it was like celebrating New Years Eve, we do a countdown and this is the first time we experience a different event and fun of a bloggers event.

Wendy's Baconator is here! and we conquered it

Last night, we decided to drop by to Wendy's in Park Square in Makati, just to try the ultimate buzz burger of Wendy's, the Baconator just caught the public attention and it's been talking about in the internet, blogs, plurks, facebook and twitters. I failed to attend the launching event that afternoon, and I heard every visitor and participant ate all kinds of Wendy's food and the Baconators for FREE. There are also contest and Baconator eating race... which for me is the craziest contest ever! hahaha but It's a fun activity, so I just missed it that afternoon..

And then our friend Carl Valenzona decided to treat us with his P1,000 GC he scored from that event, and all of us went there in Wendy's to try out the Baconator. I was talking like Arnold Schwarzenegger from the Terminator movie, and after arriving at the venue at 12:30AM, we are happy to know that the store is still open and they offer the Baconator sandwich.

We ordered 4 Baconator and it is priced at Php 199, drinks is not included, we waited for 6 minutes for the sandwich and then boom! it is now in our table. Me, Ed, Monch, and Chris got the Baconator, but Monch just shared the burger to his two companions hahaha. Its an eating fest for us.. and all I can say is that the beef patty is so tasty and I didn't got intimated from its looks, you see that anything you see in the picture is not actually what you think of in real product.

But for me, the burger is big, the patty is big. hmm okay, let me describe more on the taste. The bun taste like your delicious pandesal, so soft and yummy, the beef patty is juicy and not salty, and the bacon is heavenly, so crisp and it added more spice for the Baconator.

Mcdonald's Happy Meals are back with a better and great toy items for kids this December 2008, and its cute to see these Cinnamoroll mini stuff toys and fruit pouches, a perfect item for kids and also to ladies who collects and loves Cinnamoroll. Lace saw it and I think I saw from her face a word "collect them all", and also perfect for boys who loves anime action, Drgaon Ball Z mini action figures are in store for the December 2008 Happy Meal.

3rd Toys and Collectibles Christmas Fair 2008 production note 2

Time now for another update, and this is a very long update for everyone.

I got in time for the event briefing and I fired up my laptop inside and get ready to finish those layout designs for the newpaper print ad, tarps and event ad boards to be posted in Megamall. I connected myself to have a hidden meeting with my colleagues inside the conference center, so while they are having the briefing for the booth exhibitors, we just stayed at the back of the room and discuss everything some updates and plan for the activities that we will be co-producing for the event. And glad that Alma of Jujuuri J Culture is there to assist me every time I have an event, RG was there too..for I gave him some updates about the cosplay program we are preparing, Mark Santos and Mark Cerbo is also there representing each other's toy group, Lace is there also fixing some blog layout for Mark Santos.

So here are some updates that might help you on what's going on.

Cosplay Christmas Catwalk Show
the program for the cosplay show is not a contest, its an exhibition of all kinds of costumes and cosplay models blended with Christmas theme, the catwalk show will start at 4:00pm in the stage of Manila Toys and Gift Show inside Megatrade Hall 2. The main audience will be kids from the Bantay Bata 163, and also events visitors and cosplay fans. There's also a foot parade before the catwalk show, and it will be leaded by Santa Clause walking from the ground floor and up to the top floor of the Megamall, the foot parade is an activity for the event and also raise awareness of the program. Cosplay models are invited to join the foot parade with Santa Clause, I suggest that light weight costumes must not join, because the foot parade will use the mall stairs only and not the escalator.

There will be items to be given away to lucky selected cosplay models who has an attractive cosplay theme for Christmas, so better armed your costume with Santa Hats, Christmas decor and funny signs, maybe that will work for having a Christmas theme.

Toy Auctions
there will be a toy auction and I know that everyone is waiting for this, the auction will be for two days only, December 19-20 only, items for auctions will be available for viewing online and will be posted here in my blog, the ToyCon multiply site and our mailing list. For exhibitors of the event who likes to join the live auction, please send me the details of the items to my email at AZRAEL at GMAIL dot com, with the image, details, and bidding price of the item. A partial 10% of the final bid price will be donated to the Bantay Bata 163, ( but will double check if it is 10% )

Toy groups and community games and program for kids
Our Philippine toy groups, clubs, organization, association and community will have a program on Dec 21st in the afternoon, they will be conducting games and program for the kids of Bantay Bata 163, the kids will be there to join the fun and play games. The program will be hosted by each of the toy groups and community members, with each of their own gimiks and program style for the kids. Prizes of the contest is courtesy of the Manila Gifts and Toy Show.

The charity event
Also our local toy groups and community members of the pop culture scene will be there to hand out their donation for the Bantay Bata 163. Each group will have one box full of clothes, books, toys, school supplies, food and etc that will be helpful for the kids health and education. The donation giving program will be on stage hosted by Tina Monson Palma and followed by the toy groups and community. for the local toy groups, participated by Transformers Philippines, Zoids Philippines, Robot Pilipinas, Pinoy Toy Kolektors, Die Cast Car Philippines, Action Figure Philippines, Toy Soldiers 1:18. For other groups who are interested to join the charity event, please email me at azrael at gmail dot com.

TV guesting on December 12
I will be in Umagang Kay Ganda on December 12, 2008, its a morning show in ABS CBN, and I think the show starts at 4:30am, because our call time for the entire morning show is 4:00AM.
The tv guesting will be joined by participating booth exhibitors, cosplay models and our toy groups community, they will be there to exhibit their items for sale and feature each items and prices for the Manila Toys and Gift Show, while toy groups and collectors will be there to feature their collections and sharing their joy of the hobby and their participation for the charity event. Also Cosplay models will be there to add more fun of the show. To booth exhibitors, toy groups and cosplay models, if you are interested to join, just email me and let's put you on the list :)

The search for the World of Cars toys

We just visited 5 toy stores today and we fit the visit in our schedule today and it was a success toy hunt in ortigas city. Lace is searching for this die cast metal Disney Pixar's CARS, and in the toyline of World of Cars, baby Anya, Lace's niece is collecting all of the Cars characters. The only characters she wants for Christmas are the characters from the toy line World of Cars, they are Luigi, Guido and Boost. ( read more below)

Unfortunately, all toy stores in the mainstream malls are stocks of the characters are sold out. I just think that maybe someone is hoarding again, but we were with Mark Santos, who joined the fun and helped us in searching for that toy.

Funny that we saw this Cars photo op board and we took photos and in the advantage of that no one is using it. I just didn't expected that the World of Cars toylines will be rare now, and it seems that they very hard to find items are no longer in the stores, our last bet is to visit Greenhills, Shoppesville, we got a hot tip that there's a store in there who sells a lot of CARS characters.

This is what happens if I failed to attend a comic book event, and I know that everyone will be there and I didn't expected that it will turn like a mini comic convention ehhhee, congrats to all and nice to see that everyone is getting busy doing comics and fans being active in these events. Jay Anacleto was there as the main highlight of the event for the promotion of the sequel of Kurt Busiek and Alex Ross's Marvels, and its Jay Anacleto's turn to wear the crown as the artist for the Marvels 2. And the comics is already SOLD OUT...and I don't have my own copy. Me and Mark decided to check out in Planet X comics, but failed...still copies are sold out.

Gerry and Tony de Zuniga, Leinil Yu signs comics of Secret Invasion 8

Also Gerry shared to us photos of the event, and wow! Tony de Zuniga was there to sign comics, Leinil Yu was there too for Secret Invasion 8, Gerry Alanguilan for Elmer comics, and Edgar Tadeo. 3rd Toys and Collectibles Christmas Fair 2008 production note 1

This is my 1st production note for an upcoming event, and its a event for toys and collectibles, this event was also dubbed as The Christmas Toy Con, the only fair+bazaar+festival for toys and collectibles during the Christmas season. The best grab for your collection, gifts for love ones will be available here hehehehe.

I got late in to update everyone about this event, and the photos and video above is from November 2008, during our meeting in Megatrade Hall Conference Center, and I got surprised to see the new interiors of the room and it kinda look like I'm in SMX.

The event will be inside the Manila Toys and Gift Show in Megatrade Hall 2, the small portion of the hall will be the venue for the Christmas Toy Con, while big activities like games, cosplay and performance will be in the stage area of the Manila Toys and Gift Show. The Christmas Toy Con has an entrance fee of P30, while the Manila Toys and Gift show is free admission to everyone.

The Manila Toys and Gift Show will be on December 16-21, 2008, while the Christmas Toy Con is on December 19-21, 2008 inside Megatrade Hall 2, located at the 5th level of Mega B, SM Megamall.

Twilight soundtrack launch party blog coverage

Fudge Magazine just organized a Twilight soundtrack launch party in Glorietta 3 Park then, and as usually, my Saturday is not good and got stuck in the traffic again, arriving late and just got in time to see and watch Urban dub's live performance, lots of Twilight fans stayed till the end of the event, and more of the participants are females, and I can still count the male fans from my fingers, booths were placed inside the tent like the Olympus booth, Pony, Levis, Red ice tea and Fudge Magazine. The sountrack was sold in the venue, and it is one of your ticket in order to enter the party. They also gave away giant Twilight movie character posters like Edward and Bella, they awarded these posters to the best dressed and costume of Twilight characters, I heard that they have two models who posed as Edward and Bella, and too bad that I missed it, they say that it is a look a like version and I know people will get crazy if the real actors are in there. But I will post a pic here soon after I got photos from my friends at Fudge. Thanks to Ana Gan for inviting me, and glad that I didn't fail and nice to talk to the Olympus camera club member Sandro.

I just hang out with my friend MayZ, we met at the party with his friend Jaycee, and we ate in Reyes BBQ chicken, then while we chat and eat we listen to the soundtrack played from my laptop. hmm..sayang sana pala na press ko na yung rip CD para na copy ko na sya hahaha, then after a short minutes, Mark Cerbo appeared and joined the fun, and scored a Sony expo bath towel from one of his event swags ahhhaha.

zero points for me for haven't watch the film, and still curse the movie Quarantine and the traffic jam last Saturday. I should watch the film before another film hit theaters this week.

Bloggers invades the Ecomoda Manila office of I love Betty la fea studio set
you'll see me standing between Ruffa Gutierrez and John Lloyd Cruz.

I got invited to a studio tour inside the Ecomoda Manila set of the Philippine tv series version of I love Betty La Fea, I arrived 30 minutes late and just battled a big traffic jam in Manila and glad that I just catch up in the studio tour, and I got amazed on how beautiful the set they have for Ecomoda Manila, and at first I thought that it was held somewhere in a building with a real office space, but didn't know that the set is in the 11th floor of ELJ bldg, in ABS CBN compound. And they transformed the whole office space venue into a the Ecomoda Manila adverstising, the office were the most actions and scenes begin and end during the I love Betty la fea.

I greeted my fellow bloggers as I saw them in one area, and told them that I got lost during my solo tour inside hahhaa, then we saw Wendy Valdez and Thou Reyes just finished their take and we met them and did some photo op and crazy and funny talks after, they are very accommodating and I was there still amazed on the set and it really looks like a real office aahaha. We were informed that Bea Alonza aka Betty is not around and still in the hospital, sick and still recovering.

Then we were invited to have lunch with them and we saw the pantry area that they dressed up as the Bacolod Chicken Inasal cantina, During the meal John Lloyd Cruz showed up and sat with us during our meal, we got a talk with him and everyone got starstruck to see the young actor, who play the lead role as Armando Solis, the guy who runs the Ecomoda Manila. We introduced ourselves are bloggers and we explained to them what we do, what we blog about, what we love to write and how bloggers share their experience by writing it and posting in online for the public. John Lloyd shares to us that he is 90% computer illiterate, which is cool and he became honest with us, he knows how to surf the internet, and play video games, but the other stuff like beyond internet surfing is already out of his tune, But during the talk and lunch, he got some interest in blogging and he asked a lot of questions on how we blog about all this and also our experience as a blogger, it was like a sharing moment that he also opened up that he doesn't own any Friendster, Myspace or Facebook account profile,which a lot of fakers are already taking advantage from it, but he said that all of those are fakes and he didn't even have any account for any social networking websites. I was sitting in the middle when he talk to me and everyone looks at me, and because that I just finished a blogging lecture few weeks ago, hahaha, I just used the same lecture in blogging and he evolution of blogs.

After some talks, Ruffa Gutierrez showed up, and seated beside my place, I got starstruck and nervous, but I still continue my meal and eat that buko pandan ahhaha. Ruffa greeted us and said that she loves bloggers, she even shared to us that she like this one particular blogger, a famous one. But she told us not to mention it in our blogs. She also shares to us her experience in blogging at Pep.ph, but because of the busy sched, she wasn't able to update it, but surprised that it reach a hundred thousands hits and can't believe that many are now reading updates via the internet.

Great chat with Ruffa and John Llyod, and then Ruffa showed to us her K-text mobile updates to fans, and its a funny one. Watch the video above to see that K-text update. the mobile updates is like a mobile blog, when mobile sms subscribers receive updates from the celebrity and its a lot more easier to receive updates by using a mobile phone, and she also told us that subscribers can receive multimedia files by subscribing to another service. then she shared to us her official website which is http://www.ruffagutierrez.com, then she suggested that to John that he should have an official website, just to avoid confusion to fans who are frequent visitors to fan sites and fake social networking pages.

Then after some photo op, they went back on their set to prepare their make up and to get ready for another shoot. So while they do some takes, we were stuck in Armando Solis's office, we waited there till the take is finish, so while waiting we did some photo op at his office desk hahahaa. and that's me sitting in the middle, feel like a president to a big company..wow. I wish.

It was a great experience at the set and meeting the celebrities, and I'm glad that ABS CBN allow us bloggers to invade their set and do some tour with fellow blogger friends.

I woke up late this morning and it was already lunch time. I thought that the boxing match is already finished, but according to the radio announcer that the match will start in a few minutes. After fixing myself, I fired up my laptop and started to search for best live video streaming of the match in the intertnet. My best hub for information is from my blog friends, Pinoyexchange.com forums and the Yahoo! Sports. So after gathering some information, I shared the link here in my blog, posting a list of live streaming hubs.

- a view of Oscar's eye got badly beaten and it bleeds a lot, Manny did that during the last 10 seconds of round 7.

- On round 8, Oscar got cornered again, and it was like Roman Rapido punches thrown by Manny, I think Manny is playing Fernando Poe Jr. punch style, non stop punches given to Oscar on that corner, and after that we saw Oscar's two hands dropping after the break up, means that he got tired or maybe dizzy, still a good sign and an advantage to Manny. After a few break Oscar's energy went up and played mind games to Manny, maybe Oscar is planning something to trick Manny because he throw a lot of punches in the body, waiting for a time for Manny to block it and find a good advantage to throw a punch in the face to Manny.

then Oscar got cornered again, Manny flames up after hearing that 10 seconds notice countdown to end the round 8, it was a fast throw of punches that everyone witness, Manny like to check if Oscar will fall down and later will be saved by the bell.

- then during the break of Round 8, Oscar's coach is telling if he likes to quit or continue the match, all bloodied and wounded, Oscar decided to quit because of the bad beat on his face, and a few seconds, a bell rang and Manny's camp jumped in and celebrate the victory.

It was a great match, I thought on the first place that Manny will lose on the fight, because of Oscar's height and largeness might get all the advantage, but seeing them in the real fight shows that speed is the key to this match as Manny said after an interview. Then the fighters faced each other and Manny said to Oscar " you're still my idol", then Oscar said " no, you are my idol" both of them shook hands and hug each other, it was a great fight and victory, and another glory to Manny Pacquiao for bringing another pride to the whole world as a greatest boxer from the Philippines.

X-Men Origins: Wolverine - new 8 photos

This is a slight delay of reaction after seeing the new promo photo of X-men Origins : Wolverine
and after taking a look of it from my friend's updates via YM and Multiply, I just noticed that this promo photo of Wolverine is very clean and sort of flashy. I just don't know..maybe I want that grungy and dirty of look of Wolvie during the 1st X-men movie. Wearing jacket, cigar and jeans.

Empire Magazine January 2009 issue, glad that someone uploads a scan of it, this magazine costs Php 900 here in the Philippines and it sucks that it is very pricey and I haven't got my own Empire magazine yet hahaha. Wolverine stands for the cover, with that clean look, hope that they put a savage version of ol' canuckle head.

Girls screamed after seeing a cameo appearance of Gambit in the promo trailer months ago, and Taylor Kitsch is now really Gambit for the live action version. For the 1st time ever having a snap shot look on what will be its role in the movie. Yeah. he gambles and play poker!

Wolverine vs. Sabretooth. The best ever fight in the comics universe. I'm just wandering if they will adapt on some revelations from the comics to the movies. I just missed a lot of Wolverine Origins in comics, but for the movie...maybe they will add some info and story directly from the comics. That's the point why they created those origin comics, so that you can have your own movie for movie fans.

Another clean look, I just hope that Wolverine will have a different outfit.
I will hate this movie if he wears that white sando for 2 hours of the film.

This scenes shows that Logan aka Wolverine and Creed aka Sabretooth arguing that they should rip those soldiers out of their uniform, massacre them and leave the island.. um.. I'm not doing any fan fiction line hehhe, its just a short blurb for this blog.

Okay.. that's another round of Wolverine, hope we can see the real action next week

I just noticed this vandalized Oscar Awards poster, and it looks like the Joker tainted some funny laughs and joke on it. Many people think that this gimik is cool, while others got sick of seeing a vandalized poster. I just saw other e-posters of The Dark Knight movie, and got creepy on seeing the Joker again, with its cameo look and feel before I watched the movie months ago.

I just did a little research and found out that some of the posters are officially made by Warner Bros. while others are made by fans, I think... including the poster above

I'm not sure for the Best Picture, but as a comic and Bat-fan, my vote will be for this film,
But I know there are other great films and I'm curious to see on what will be the list of nominees for the Best Picture category. But Best Actor for Christian Bale? hmm. The vocal cords and voice acting already ruined his performance. But hey! disguising your self as a caped crusader needs to disguise your voice too, for me its a brilliant idea to be realistic, but for some people who are not comics fans... they will sure laught it ahahaha. ( oppps)

Best Picture!, I just hope..everytime I look on the word "haunting", the horror and being freaky of the film comes back to me. Good luck The Dark Knight.

My first Sony experience is with my Sony Walkman

It just give me some chills and goosebumps after I googled an image of my 1st Sony experience item and this Sony Walkman is my ever first item in my entire life, I just remembered that I used to play my favorite cassette tapes like Sesame Street and recorded music from the radio. During my youngling years I love to listen to music and thanks to my uncle and aunt for giving this great item during their early balikbayan times. Read more below.

I carry the Sony Walkman in school and then during my boy scout days, I never leave home with it, because its the only gadget that I have and I love listening to music and also the radio. There was a time that this Walkman reached my High School days and I felt sad when it got broken and because of it was old and being used almost everyday, I said good bye to it and waited for another Sony Walkman to be replaced by my aunt and uncle a year after, but love the new features and also its style with a color black design, perfect for the early 90's.

My dad is a big Sony fan, all our TV sets are branded Sony, we also have our 1st CD player, which gave me my first weirdness to see a CD audio and a big Sony CD and cassette player. My mom bought this Mariah Carey MTV Unplugged CD and she played it over and over again, because of that CDs are very rare that time its the only CD audio we have at home after they bought it, then dad told me to choose my first CD audio ahahah, oh yeah, Black Sabbath CD is still the shiznit! and I love it.

My family is big Sony user and I'm happy to learn from my dad that all of us should buy great branded items like Sony. aww I'm starting to miss my dad and family because of this blog post.

The early Sony Walkman definitely gave significance in my life just like the Sony’s World’s First RGB LED Backlight LCD TV: Bravia X450, that simply amazes me whenever it comes from 1st base technology, we just got a new Sony Bravia LCD TV T-series weeks ago, and I'm very impressed on its style and intelligent features. Best for enjoying watching TV and also home movies.

I love to shop and buy stuff during the Christmas holiday and season, and because of the bazaars and tiangges popping up like mushrooms every December, its hard to avoid it because the prices are in a good deal and the rare items are mostly available in the bazaars. We are visiting this bazaar every year, and I think we visit it 2-3 times in a week, just to grab the good items and also catching up the closing sale of all stalls. Best to visit this is at around weekday and in the opening and closing date of the bazaar. Great items to choose with wide selection of never before seen items, I always check out some cool t-shirts and also some toys.
Also great to see some celebrities selling some of their items at the stall.

Another bazaar festival event that we don't miss, I remember that we bought and almost completed the Care Bears stuff toy and bought it in one of the stalls that we saw every year. This is one of the bazaars that is crowded same as the bazaar listed above. Best visit is still on the weekdays if you don't like too much people in the area, but be there early because the car parking is a pain and bring lots of plastic bags or call your driver to pick up the items from you, so that you won't carry too much of your shopping hauls.

Been receiving their event alerts via SMS, and maybe its time for me to check it out and do a review here on December 12th. I'm not sure if the entrance fee is P100, because the last Urban Bazaar or a similar bazaar I went in Rockwell tent, they charged me P100 just for the entrance fee.

Bloggers enjoyed the Super Bowl of China’s New Dishes for December

30 Bloggers join the food event at Super Bowl of China, TriNoma mall.

Super Bowl of China gave us tasty and healthy dishes for this month, and Bloggers were invited to check out the master chef's skills in cooking and also for us to design our own decorated art bowl. Yehey.com organized the event with Super Bowl of China at the TriNoma branch, lots of bloggers and photographers participated and we enjoy the event as we got lots of hot table discussions with my seat mate.

We saw how the chinese master chef cooked this Tao Sa Pao, its a sweet treat of fried siopao dough with black bean cream filling. They boiled the oil on a 109 degrees hot frying pan, under that is the super hot jet flame stove. Its kinda scary inside, but the master chefs is the expert here and they guide us on how to check if the oil is in correct heat and how to cook Tao Sa Pao. They used a strainer and pour the hot oil in the dough and continue the process until it turns brown. ( read more below)

After the tour, we just finished designing our bowl, its funny that I always ruined my own design and I just can't avoid touching the wet paint of my bowl during my process of coloring the other side, It was supposed to be a funny face in the bowl, but the coloring thing made it look ugly ahhhaa. You can see my entry in the top side of this photo.

We also tasted the Crispy Mandarin Chicken, , made of boneless chicken fillets fried to a golden brown crisp, drenched in a light and mildly spiced Chinese Sauce, and served with Taiwan petchay on the side. It made my day, because it tasted good and first I thought it was a duck or a pigeon. There is also a Lechon Macau, which Marcelle really waited to tasted and we say hello to our fellow heart and arteries, we didn't wasted time and ate the Lechon Macau, its a deep-fried crispy pork belly cutlets seasoned with select Chinese spices and served with Hoisin sauce on the side, the winner part of the Lechon Macau is the Hoisin sauce, it has a sweet taste and it kills the "suya" feel under your tongue, also RG enjoyed eating his vegetable with the sauce.

I love sea foods and vegetables, this Seafood Chopsuey that is cooked with assorted garden fresh vegetables with black and mixed mushrooms sautéed with fish fillet, shrimp, and other seafood, is the best meal of the day for me, and I love the way they cooked it and tasted not too salty, but more healthy to my heart :)

The ultimate heavy metal and thrash metal icon is here in Manila, and I still can't believe that I'm infront of the stage watching them and busy head banging my head while listening to their music. Sepultura is one of the most influential band of all times to old and young rock generations. I just remembered that I'm listening to their music since I am in high school and been like worshiping their guitar riffs, jumping and head banging after my mom's Freedie Aguilar tape playing in our karaoke machine unit.

Even that the Cavelera brothers are no longer in the roster, but still the music lives and the band is still strong to many Sepultura fans. Below are my greatest photo coverage ever in my life while watching Sepultura and feel the chills and goosebumps all over my skin.

I really went wild and crazy after hearing Chaos AD and Attitude live in my ears.

Muziklaban 2008 - Kjwan, Typecast and Awarding of Winners

We arrived at 12 midnight after our blog night talk in SMX and arriving in Marikina Sports Complex is smooth and even that there is traffic in Marikina, we can still feel the flow of energy of the event after seeing all these rock fans waiting outside the venue. I just caught KJwan performing on stage and thanks to the media pass and all access ID, I managed to go up on stage and took some photos. I started to get excited because the organizers told me to go up on stage immediately because the stage will be close from all press/media after the awarding, because Sepultura will perform after and everyone should be out of the stage area. (read more below)

After that I captured the great moments of the awarding, I'm so happy to know that the band from Baguio, EVEN, won the 1st place in the Muziklaban, I'm very impressed on their style and also performance, and I was there at the semi finals sessions and they are the last band to perform at 6UG , and the judges got blown away for listening to their music and performance act, the lead vocalist is a female, and as the judges say that time, if her band won, then their the 2nd band to be a champ with a female vocalists, I think they were referring to Fuseboxx as the 1st band to win with a female vocalists.

The awarding is smooth, winners get 10,000 pesos in cash, while the 1st place winner will receive 1 million pesos and a recording contract and plus to represent and endorese Red Horse Beer. The Muziklaban is one of the most important event in our Philippine rock history, searching for new breed of artist that will be added and contribute to the rock music scene.

I was at the Bloggers night conference inside Asian Business Expo 2008 to conduct a talk and sort of a seminar to non- bloggers. I invited bloggers to join with me to have a sharing moment and give lecture to everyone about blogging and also video blogging. What is a blog ?

here are some definition from some bloggers. And yes blog is like an online journal were you can write and document yourself and everything that interacts with you, expressing your self, sharing thoughts and experience. But blogs is more than a diary or journal, it is now reached the other side like it can be a corporate website, portfolio and personal domain. Independent publishing now reaches the internet and much easy to share and express the publisher experience to the open public.

What are bloggers?
Bloggers are the people behind the blogs, they are the writers and author or owner of the blogs or website. The word bloggers is every hot today, because this is the official title for a person who writes and share its article in the online community. Blogger can be tag as a new media person, who cover events, write story and shout out its opinion via the freedom of speech.

Blogging ?
The act of writing and sharing the posted article online which can be viewed by the public. Blogging is also art, like writing poems, short stories, essays and articles. Blogging can be indoors or outdoors, you can still do blogging via sms or mobile message and posted it in your blogs.

More into blogs
Blog can be a time capsule were you store all of your experience and it serves as your memory bank, I too search and go back to my old entries just to refresh myself, if ever I want to look back and check out my past. Blogging is also a hobby, it can be for entertainment or amusement. Blog is for business, were you can reach people easy via posting regular updates and reach the online target market. It can be career and you can earn money from it via advertisers and sponsors.

Evolution of blogs and bloggers
Since March 2008, I'm conducting a study and also observing on what will be the next step for bloggers, and after joining lots of online communities and events, I started to figure out that blogging and blogs are the next new thing for the market. Bloggers who blog anything for their blogs, can discover many things about themselves, even the people who can't write properly or post a good photograph material, can now train themselves and learn more on how they will enhance more this new skill. And by these new found skills, these bloggers can go with the flow with professionals and practice more to make it better. A regular bloggers can be photographer, a writer, a video editor, videographer, concept developer, adviser and many more.

Myself is a great example for discovering new skills, like writing and doing events management. I discover that by just writing, reading, talking to people, the learning process never stops there, you should continue till you get new knowledge. Bloggers in the past stayed at home and others go anonymous, but today bloggers are much more exposed and out going compared in the past. And because that there are already bloggers event, this is the best venue to go offline and meet other bloggers in person. Awards and recognition to blogs and bloggers are now emerging, giving importance on each accomplished mission and public service to readers and co-bloggers.

Bloggers mascots and merchandise are forming and it adds another form of entertainment and interactivity. Merchandise serve as to boost up more the power of writing and publishing, also a fund drive to continue the bloggers ability to support the expense for the blogging activity. Content of blogs are now serves as reference and supporting articles, information posted in blogs are now in demand, because of the detailed content and accuracy, that works only to some known and publicly posted blogs, rather than posted by anonymous individuals ( just my observaton only)

Blogs are now the future of independent publishing and also it is open to anyone and everyone can be part of it. No need to pay anything or enroll to a school, blogging yourself to the public is like opening a book of your life to everyone or sharing on what's on your head and feelings.

I shared this as representing myself and not the entire blog community, hope no one is offended on my notes and I'm just sharing to everyone on what I have learned and discovered on why blogs are more popular and IN today. - Thank you!

We were invited by the Jollibee Food Corp. ( JFC) to their Christmas Party Blow for friends, media, bloggers and friends. It was a great party with over flowing of different kinds of foods from Jollibee, Chow King, Mang Pepe's, Red Ribbon and many more. There were games and funny segment as it was hosted by Arnel Ignacio, I enjoyed the event and also hanging out with our blogger friends, maybe we got the invitation after attending blog events by Chow King months ago. Thanks to the PR of JFC for inviting us bloggers, and its a great experience to hang out with the event and meeting my friends in the TV and print media.

They raffled off some appliances and Lace won this slick and cool Sony Bravia LCD TV T series, I already stalled it inside Mama's room and it looks like a giant iPhone, with big speakers on the side, much bigger than the Toshiba LCD I won from a video blog contest months ago.

The party ended after the grand prize raffle, and then they gave away loot bags to all attendees and everyone receive a cake from Red Ribbon.

Also I learned that Greenwich is now delivering pizzas to all over the Philippines, and it mark the first for being able to give delivery services wherever you are in the country. Also Jollibee Jollitown has an event for kids, check out the poster below or visit any Jollibee branch.

Book lovers enjoyed the special treat at Fully Booked

Fully Booked and Yehey.com organized an event for bloggers, and according to the mechanics of the event that all 150 bloggers who are present at the event will receive 2 free books from Fully Booked. Book and comics lovers went tot the event at 4pm located at the roof deck of the main branch of Fully Booked. They created a store tour to all of us and the first level we visited is their U View room, its a cinema viewing room located at their basement, the room is available for rent for book launching, panel talks and. press-media events. It was my first time to be there and I've been hearing the U View room years ago after its opening. I just learned that Fully Booked started in 2003 and it expanded in many branches in Manila, also its first origin came from Bibiliarch, then the owner of the store created a new one and called it Fully Booked. We've been tour in all different levels and we got to know each 4 levels of the store, having its own categories and genres of books. One of my favorite location is the comics section, which is located at the basement. After the tour, we ate great food by Hizons, Pasta Putanesca is the best meal for me, I'm a pasta fanatic and lover. And then I won one book from their trivia games.

Fully Booked announced to us that the bloggers event is also the launching of their Fully Booked bloggers book club, all attendees who is registered on that day is now an official member of the club. Club members will receive news and special invites for book launches, artist meet and great and other events that will be held only at Fully Booked. After Rhea Llamas, marketing of Fully Booked made the announcement, I shouted meet and greet with Neil Gaiman hahahaa, everyone laughed and surely enjoy the event. Also on that day I got news from Rhea that they are now fixing the 3rd Philippine Graphic Fiction Awards for next year, and she said that they are waiting for Neil Gaiman's reply and schedule for his visit here in Manila to participate once again, to announce and award the winners of the contest.

Afer the big announcement they started to let us choose our own book of choice in one of the section of the venue, In there I grabbed some books like the hard bound Star Wars Revenge of the Sith, I saw this book about dead rockers, but Lace wants the Korean cook book, so I reserved the book for myself, and I hold the dead rocker book for a minute and then decided to let it go, I gave the book to Aids, which he will appreciate it more since he is a rocker rockstar.

Lace got her haul that day, while I got my own and carried those items home.

Marvel.com: For both Kurt and Roger, I was wondering what differences—if any—you've found on this project from your past collaborations? Has the relatively different type of story from books like AVENGERS FOREVER changed much in your scripting styles? Has the fact that Kurt plotted the series from the start changes how you're working back and forth?

Kurt Busiek: Everything we've worked on together has been done a little differently. When we worked on AVENGERS FOREVER, we'd work out the plots together, then Roger would type them up, I'd tweak them, and then script over [artist Carlos Pacheco's] art. About Jay Anacleto
After having finished its studies of dentist, during whom it spent his time drawing, Jay Anacleto decided to be tested with the realization of comics. Encouraged by Whilce Portacio, him also of Philippines, it contacted Brian Haberlin, which had just left Top Cow to found Avalon studios. Brian Haberlin proposed a project to him that him and Brian Holguin had invented: thus was born Aria, the history of a princess of the fairies living among the men. This framework of urban fantasy, original in the middle of the innumerable comics of Superman, and the quality of the drawings of Anacleto met a strong success which made of it the second best sale of January 1999.

Thereafter, it drew also Aria - Angela , before starting to work on a new project entitled Athena Inc., there too in collaboration with Brian Haberlin. In parallel, it continued to carry out the covers of the following Aria mini-series and illustrated Aria - has mindwinter dream , one little book of tales written by Brian Holguin.

With its exit, Athena Inc. - The Beginning astonished once again. Indeed, this independent history moved away from the cartoon to approach the cinema: the illustrations all are of the drawings not inks returned in two-color printing and the boxes are not coupled the ones with the others. As for the dialogs, they are not in bubbles but rather within frameworks independent of the images, which float in the middle of the boxes. This number was followed a few months later of a limited series entitled Athena Inc. - The Manhunter project , which is its last work of scale published to date.

Dinos Alive World Tour in Manila grand opening day

this is my coverage of the opening day of Dinos Alive World Tour in Manila last November 27th at the Block 5 of SM Mall of Asia, the ribbon cutting was conducted by the officials of Max Entertainment, SM Mall of Asia, Pasay City Mayor Wenceslao “Peewee” B. Trinidad and Alvin Patrimonio. After the ribbon cutting, press/media/bloggers, kids and family entered the park for the first time and witness the main attraction of bringing back dinosaurs alive in this generation, and thanks to robotic technology for making it happen. And I also have a video here featuring a giant lizard and me acting as a dinosaur hunter. (read more)

As I entered the park, a park attend attendee will guide and hand over a map of the entire venue, there you will find the attraction, the activities and the location of food booths and merchandise stores. The dinosaur's area is dark, but it added dramatic feel with the effects of the lights and sound, and it will fool you that dinosaurs will look real and alive, I got scared for a minute, because I have this semi-phobia of looking and approaching giant creatures (that included elephants) so it took me a lot of minutes to approach a gigantic Tyrannosaurus Rex, which is the best attraction of all. There are a lot of dinosaurs in their own diorama mode, moving, eating other dinosaurs, giving birth and etc. The robotic dinosaurs are in the actual life size scale of the real deal, and thanks to the bones that paleontologist found in some sites, this added more info on how big and large these dinos.

After a long walk through of the semi-cave of dinosaurs, I visited the activity area, there I enjoyed watching the QTV Cinema featuring CGI story of dinosaurs, the cinema is big and they projected the film for everyone, I stayed there inside for 20 minutes, enjoyed the cgi story. The Caltex dinosaur dig is one of the best part for kids, many of them stayed there and left their parents outside the sand hahaha, and some of them enjoyed the dinosaur train ride, and didn't know that even adults can take a ride also with their kids. There are photo op services with cgi dinosaurs and with Santa Clause, there's this Alaska area were kids and adults can play Nintendo Wii, answer trivia games, math games, brain teasers, and mini contest that you can win some premium items from Alaska. The food booths are located outside and I love eating hotdog sandwich, but during the opening they open up a free food and drinks for everyone, like the corn hotdog tasting area, I love the taste! its a sure winner!, free Dunkin Donuts coffee, and mineral water.

Soft launching of Robot Pilipinas

Here are the official images of Popy inspired rendition of Voltes V entitled "Respect for Volt In Box". The set will include some new details, including the infamous Voltes V's tank mode and colors based on the original Popy (Godaikin) toy. The 21st Awit Awards 2008 - blog coverage

It was a night of OPM at Eastwood City and the Philippine Association of the Record Industry (PARI) hosted the annual Awit Awards at the Eastwood Central Plaza. Jaydj of Titikpilipino.com invited me to be one of the event's official photographer and I'm excited to get the invite, because it was a event photography gig and coverage for PARI. Over 30 prestigious awards were given to all artists, composers, and record label, and it also pay tribute to the best of all best in the Philippine music industry. Also with me at the event are my friends and bloggers, I posted an invite days before the awards night and it will be a bloggers coverage for the event and for their blogs. I got 10 bloggers who confirmed and joined the fun. The best thing in being an official photographer is that you have all the access through the venue and even in the backstage, but minus the dressing room or performers lounge, because I don't want to bug the artists inside who were resting and practicing. But I had fun at the backstage were I position myself just to take photos of celebrities and artists who I didn't catch to take photos at the red carpet area, because I was assigned their first to have a red carpet photo to all guest, but since most of them are late and already inside the venue, I decided to stay at the backstage and wait. Then I transferred back to the main stage were I was with my blogger friends busy taking a lot of snap shots of the award presentation, performance, and acceptance of the award.

It was great to have a talk and meet the artist, Karylle joked at me that the photos I took might result to as a gossip, but I told her that its for the event coverage and not for some tabloid ahaha, Also met MJ for the first time, who was with Sitti, Julianne and Olivia, which I met them and I spark a Mark Cerbo joke for failing to join with us ahahaha. Lace called on the phone during the event, and because that I'm not sure on what time it will end, I just told her to wait and I'm busy rubbing elbows with the stars haha. The Awit Awards is like that I'm watching a live event of ASAP-SOP -NU rock awards, the roster of performers is the best! from bands to top divas and pop prince and princess, All of us enjoyed the event and show, and now I'm excited to watch next year, and hope be a photographer again.

The bloggers

Jaydj got 1,000 plus shots of photos, while I got around 750 photos, Carl got around 200 plus photos and the others I forgot to ask how many photos they got. Also met an old friend Richmond Chi, brother of stand up comedian artist Stanley Chi, was there and taking photo coverage with his photography club called Likha, he has a photo blog called Photo Walker.

the night ended in Coffee Bean and Tea Leaves, as our main sponsor Carl, volunteered to treat us with his P1,000 GC which he got from a blog event, so me, Jaydj and Ed are happy, and Carl munch away the stress after losing a battery pack of his Canon camera. But everyone is still happy, because it was a mission accomplish task and happy to see that Filipino music is still strong.

Azrael Coladilla is a BS Math major in Computer Science graduate from Far Eastern University, just finished college last 2007 and now in heavy blogging and events organizing. Blogging since 2001 and officially become active in 2003, blogging for the pop culture scene. Loves to innovate and create ideas and materialize it into something cool for events and conventions. He is busy in blogging, video blogging, pod casting and surfing the far reaches of the social networking websites. Into freelance work and being a rurouni like Kenshin Himura for years, never stop learning from everything that is around you, but Azrael is now starting to manage an independent events coverage and blog team called Pop Machine Media.

Been an inker of comics for DC, Marvel and Image, and Gerry worked with Leinil Francis Yu and Whilce Portacio on titles like Wolverine, X-men, X-Force, Superman, Batman, Fantastic Four, Iron Man, Wetworks, Grifter, High Roads, Silent Dragon, and many more.

Adapted and illustrated various short stories by classic authors for Graphic Classics including “The Black Cat” by Edgar Allan Poe, “The Judge’s House” by Bram Stoker, “The Plague of Ghosts” by Rafael Sabatini and many more. Edward Arevalo, the man behind the music blogs edarevalo.net and musicrator.com. Edward is a Business Management graduate. He is an alumnus of Makati Science High School and had his college degree at Asia Pacific College. Ever since, Edward (or Ed) wanted to be a DJ. He’s a “frustrated” singer too but he doesn’t stop there as he tries to move closer to his biggest dream through music blogging. Red Horse Beer Muziklaban Semi-finals sessions at 6 Underground

I just caught the semi finals session and judging at the 6 Underground Pearl Drive in Ortigas yesterday and I missed the 11am start and arrived at 230pm in the venue. My ear got busted as a loud rock audio waves hits me after entering 6 Underground, there I saw a heavy rock music performer on stage and then judges sitting infront and watching the performers in a serious format. After reloading my camera with batteries and prepare to shoot, I just noticed that those judges are people from our local rock scene, most of them are lead vocalist, guitarists, drummers and rock icons. I saw the list of the finalist written on a piece of paper and pasted on their table near some nachos and Red Horse Beer.

bands that I saw performing that day is K9, Indiephums, Moabites, Karding Sungkit, Even, Triangulo, and a band from the Manila area..I just can't pin point which band. But I have photos below that can show some of them performing.

It was like that I'm watching the American Idol for rockers, judges give some of their review and also asked questions to the semi finalists about their music influences, what are their next plan if they win the contest and other concerns that is related on being part of the music scene. Some things I learned like "sometimes the band's look came in first before the music", means that even that you are good looking or pogi, that doesn't really give points on being a rocker.

Guitar effects really did a great job for this riffs and leads of their songs.

Reg Rubio of Greyhoundz observing the band during their first song, its a cover song that should be from a pinoy rock classic like Asin or Juan dela Cruz band.

give it all your best! - that's what a semi-finalist must do, because judges are infront listening to the band's music, reading the lyrics and observing some technical gimiks of each band members during performance.

One of the judge is giving his own comments about a band's performance and music arrangement. Also they give tips and advice to lift the spirit of these young band rockers.

Female vocalist of a band from Baguio, the judges say that who ever win 1st place in the contest, will receive 1 million pesos in cash and a rock album contract, and also on a road as an endorser and brand promoter for Red Horse Beer.

I'm excited to watch the event this Saturday. and wow! according tot the poster, the event will start at 2pm and will end at 5AM in the morning!! at the Marikina Sports Complex.. omg omg omg .. Twilight mania is here

The Twilight movie mania is here, and I'm totally clueless about the story of the movie. Been hearing this movie and this book months ago and everyone in the internet is talking about Twilight, I just heard that it is a vampire love story and I just observed that most of the fan of this book or movie are all girls. Then after seeing the trailer of the movie in YouTube, theater and a press kit bundle on a CD, I just got some interest and now feel a little excited to see the film later.

As for the Twilight mania came in, lots of group, fan clubs, community and online clubs came out and I just discovered it after a google search of a Twilight premiere weeks ago, but then I just discovered this fan group and surprised that it was operated by my friend Meann.

For those who have seen the premiere while ago, what can you about the movie? is it really better than the book ? or the book is more better than the movie? I love vampire movies, but this title is a lot different from any vampire I know, they live and act normal humans in broad day light. Now that part is interesting!

My next TV and print appearance

Probe TV
My next tv appearance will be on December 3, tune in to ABS CBN and watch the Probe TV show, they will feature something about my stuff here in my blog and also about an event and my blog coverage. It feels great that my blog coverage materials is now branching out online and now landing on the pages of magazines, newspapers and the next is on TV.

thanks to Steph and Paterno for the interview, I really enjoyed the company and also discovering this carinderia that offers wifi internet access to its customer. The Lechon Kawali they have is yummy.

The tv appearance is one of my first in an interview format, I've been appearing on TV in some talk shows, most of it are live and others are just interview inside one of my events. But having a different kind of tv appearance with an interview focusing on a subject, is one of my first tv interview and the big gig is it will be at Probe Tv. This will be my 2nd time in Probe TV, and its an another experience that I can share outside from the world of blogging. Catch my tv interview on December 3, 2008. I'm a little bit shy, because I don't know what will be outcome of the segment based on the editing and story. thanks Probe!

I have a special appearance there courtesy of the comic strip artist Kawingkawing. I'm one of the characters in the comics strip and also my pet cat "Pulot" is a guest too.

the setting is in the cave man years, where humans learn something and do an activity in an early stage, Kawingkawing showed a funny comics side on how blogging started. that's me on the comics strip dreaming to be a popular blogger when I grow up hhhahaa. you can read more of that strip HERE. thanks Kawingkawing. Eraserheads reunion concert - movie premiere coverage

Jay de Jesus of titikpilipino.com provided us a photo coverage of the theatrical premiere of the Eraserheads reunion concert, he just shared to us his experience via plurk post that he just experienced for the 1st time that everyone inside the cinema are clapping, shouting, screaming and singing while watchin the whole concert footage dated last August 30, 2008. Also there are shortfilms included in the movie directed and produced by each of the band members of Eraserheads.

He also spotted some friends who got captured by the camera and its nice to know about it and now I'm excited to watch it on the 26th and also wait for the DVD release next year.

Also by looking at the photo albums, I noticed that Raimund Marasigan is not present at the premiere.

Komikon 2008 : 4th Filipino Komiks Convention - blog coverage

I went to the Komikon 2008 yesterday as a media man and I’m there to do a photo coverage of the event and also to support Filipino komiks. I arrived late and I’m already getting worried that some komiks that I’m planning to grab might be out of stock, so I prayed and let the komiks gods help me arrive on time and discard away from bad elements on my way to UP Diliman. As soon as I receive my media ID pass at the registration area, I started to roam around and took some photos, the venue is already jam packed and I position myself next to a portable air cooler just to absorb some cold air and prepare for a hot and crowded convention for Filipino Komiks.

Filipino Komiks and indie comics are getting rare now a days, many people are still clueless that there is still pinoy comics circulating in the mainstream and underground market. Most of the hot and interesting comics are being released in events and convention, comic creators and publishers are taking advantage in releasing their new comics and titles in every convention, because the comic readers and target market of their titles are already in there, and then after they will continue re-releasing the titles in the local stores. People are not aware of the Komikon, but as time pass by, different visitors and not the same market are now gracing and attending the event. I got a talk to one of the customers in Chocolate Kiss Café, I was having my afternoon tea with Mark Cerbo, and while eating I’m checking out some of my komik hauls from the event, the old guy asked me if there is still another event tomorrow, then I told him that the event is one day only and its an annual event here in UP Bahay ng Alumni, I just told the guy that he can bring his family there and do check out the event, because komiks materials are being sold there and also artists and writers are present to meet the fans.

My idea and concept for making the Komikon is true, the building of the new market of readers are starting to grow, but the time is very slow and at least we can see some changes and good result, and for me Komikon saves the Philippine Komiks and not some guy who is grabbing credit for saving and reviving the entire Filipino comics industry, if he can make a convention as big as the Komikon and continue support the artists and writers here, He can get all the credits and I will label myself as the babbling blogger aahahaa. Congratulations to the Komikon organizers mainly the Artists’ Den core group members, been with them for years and I’m glad after I left the organizing team on its first year, they now stepping up on the next level via learning from the experience of past Komikons. The event should be called the Komikon convention week. Because they have lots of activities, symposiums and exhibits for 5 days before the main event. Now I’m excited what will be their next installment next year,

First I roam around the exhibit area, and saw the Alfredo Alcala Legacy exhibit, I just got a talk with Alfredo Alcala Jr. for a second and he just told me that Tony deZuniga just left and I missed it, and then I told him that I’ll be back and look for my coverage partner Mark Cerbo in the area. Just say hello to some comic artist friend and take pictures, I’m studying the event and the crowd flow, so that I know where to start and go to some areas that has lesser crowd. Then I visited Gerry Alanguilan’s booth, there I got my first Komikon comics stuff, he gave me a copy of Elmer book 4 and I’m very happy and excited to read it after the event. Then I met Arnold and Cynthia Arre, been waiting for them and got my Martial Law Babies graphic novel signed by Arnold, and then Leinil Yu was there too, the GHG people, and it was like a big reunion every year.It’s a fun gathering and its like one big happy family exchanging kumustahans and news to each other.

There are a lot of story that I like to post, but I’ll just post some great news I got from the comics people.

Zsa Zsa Zaturnnah book 2
I just got a talk with Carlo Vergara and I bump onto him at the 2nd floor of the venue taking a coffee break at Chocolate Kiss Café, I got news from him that the 2nd book will be released nex year, If my ears are correct, I think it will be on July 2009. And after the release of the book, a theater play will be produced a year after of the book 2 release.

Trese book 3
Saw Budjette Tan taking a cool break infront of the air cooler, and because I’m at the indie comic booth checking out some stuff, I talked to him and my chance to have a little chat and talk about the book. He said that Trese book 3 will be available on the end of January 2009 or maybe February. I ask if there will be a possibility for a tv series or movies, but he just said that were proposal and they are still studying it. It will be great if it will be tv series or movie , but Budj said that they will finish and do more Trese comics as time permits them, because Budj and Kajo are super busy artist with their own day jobs.

Elmer compilation and Wasted new edition
Gerry Alanguilan confirm this with me about the Elmer book compilation, he just told me that he forgot to add me in the thank you section for Elmer book 4, and he just been reminded when I showed up at his booth, I laughed and told him, that’s okay, more important is that Elmer 4 is here. He just said that Elmer book compilation is now on plan and will be released next year and my name will appear there hahaha. So cool! I forgot to ask him what kind of format of the compilation or if we are expecting some added pages or a sequel. A new Wasted comics compilation will be released next year, I just saw a post from his blog announcing a new reprint and maybe a packaging. Hmm I smell Hard bound hahaha. More power Gerry!

Comic project from KC Kordero
After grabbing Kc’s comics Filipino Independent Komiks issue 1 and 2, I took the chance to ask him his upcoming plans and projects, he told me that he just stop making comics for this year and do some study for a comic release for 2009. He said that 2008 is not good time for production and business, and I feel that there something got to do with feng shui or he got an advice from a business consultant. But the great news is that Kc is back and he just released another comics for us after Filipino Komiks issue 1 and Sindak horror – comics magazine.

News from Pol Medina
I saw Pol Medina taking a break in front of his booth, and because that the crowd of the event is getting lesser in the afternoon, I talked to him and told him that I was the guy who emailed him about the Pugad Baboy figurines, because some fans contacted me via multiply.com and want to ask if I know someone who sells the P-gurines merchandise of Pugad Baboy, I think it is the Polgas mini statue. Then Pol told me that he stop the production of the mini statues and he will resume producing more maybe next year. He shared to me that because of the busy sched, he has no time to make more and it’s a hand made by him personally. I told him that he should try these statue custom makers and I told him about the pinoy statue makers, and he said that its not easy and its very hard to handle. But then I realized that he is right, he got in time to postpone the statue and merchandise distribution, because my mind said that in these generation, statues and toys can now be pirated, at least he is on the right track making his own merchandise customized with his personal touch. But then after a photo op and talk ahahah, He told me that there will be another autograph session event in Powerbooks maybe early next year. But then a fan I’ve met years ago in one of his event signings, suggested to me that I should suggest to Pol for a Pugad Baboy convention for its anniversary, but I know Pol likes the idea and he told me that time he wants a laser light show at the opening hahaha. Will try to ask if he is open for that idea again. And forgot to mention him that he should try blogging.

At the DLS CSB booth, I got a talk with Benjie Marasigan, chairperson/professor for Bachelor of Arts in Animation (ABANI) under the School of Design & Arts (SDA, and he gave a dvd copy of sample animation of their students, and he also showed me to check out the comics created by their students, those comics serve as their thesis for their comics creation subject, he said that the special subject is still open and he is the professor, the only man available for the class. He said that if there’s anyone in the profession of comics creation who would like to teach or be a guest in their class, just contact him and they are open to it. He told me that after Gerry Alanguilan as for the 1st teacher of the subject, Benjie takes over and continues the class for other batches. If there’s anyone here who would like to teach in DLS CSB, just contact me and I will direct you to Benjie.

I will end my coverage of the Komikon, I have a short video clip of Gerry Alanguilan at the panel discussions, but the sound is not clear, so I will make a subtitles and upload it in my YouTube. It’s sad that I didn’t took some videos and interviews, the area is dark in my video camera and the its hard to get a good light source. But its okay there is still next year and I learn a lot from the event. I will post lots of comics reviews of the indie comics I bought at the event, will post that here in my blog and also at Komiks News Now Philippines.

Hataw Hanep Hero the Amped editon - photo coverage

This is my day 1 photo coverage of the event. Nothing interesting, and I was hoping to attend a kick ass boom bastic vavoom event, but it completely fail. I heard that their previous convention is much better and loaded with activities and attractions, but its okay, I just bought some Star Wars Mighty Muggs toys in a good deal. Also I went there to support my friends and partners who were part of the event :) I'm sure that day 2 today will be jam packed, because cosplayers will be there and it will be the main attraction of the event.

just stumbled RG lining up, so I went there with him and pull off a tag team coverage.

major suckors!, falling in line is the pain!, and opening the gate 45 minutes late is also a pain.
many people complain and then after a complain from a friend, they opened the gate for us.
Don't bring mineral bottles, they will just confiscate it, or any beverage or food. Its like entering the Eraserheads concert, tight security, bouncers all over the area, massive check point and foods are not allowed inside. :(

I feel sad yesterday after hearing these news from people who went to the toy sale, many people went there and problems had just occur like collectors into panic buying and also I heard that many visitors fight each other just to get their toys. I just heard this news from an event last night and they were shocked to see that in the event, and then during in one of my meetings, I got lots of confirmation that the event was like a war zone and people like to kill each other because of these GI JOE toys. At first I thought that people will pull each others head for a robot toy, but I was wrong, it was for the GI JOE and Cobra toys ahahaha.

I just heard also on the system on how to buy there, you have to fall in line and then wait for your turn to enter the event. I know that it is a toy sale, but you need to get a special coupon in order to have that discount. Im just not comfortable on that system thats why I'm pulling it out my interest already and not attend it. So sad ... and many say that toy hoarders are the main attraction yesterday at the 1st day of the toy sale event. But I hear some good reviews from other who went there and got some cool stuff, but later on they said that if I'm planning to go there today at exactly 10am, I should think first and go there in line as early as possible, because there will be a huge line for people and there is a time slot of the opening. They are now controlling the flow of people just to avoid the previous problems, but I hope that it will be a peaceful event today and no bloody killings for buyers hehehehe.
